Books & Buckets is a unique reading incentive program that rewards children for developing strong reading habits. Students read at home for approximately 20 minutes each weekday, complete a brief online Reading Check to confirm comprehension, and then take a five-question Reading Challenge Quiz on Saturday. Students who score 80% or higher earn 90 minutes of supervised basketball at Marsh Creek Community Center Gym.
Designed for children ages 9–13, Books & Buckets combines literacy, accountability, and physical activity to help students become stronger readers while having fun. At just $20 per week, the program includes books provided by America's Math Tutor, daily reading activities, online comprehension checks, and weekly basketball sessions.
